CJF sign.jpg

Look for this big blue sign. That's us.

It's right there on Hwy 71 S. Driving north? We're on the right. Driving south? We'll be on the left. After you turn in, there's a long driveway - when it splits, go right towards the green barn. You can't miss it. And if you're feeling bold, go ahead and lay on your car-horn when you're driving up - sometimes it might be difficult to see or hear you from wherever we are working that day, so don't be shy.

Can't find us on a map?

GPS sometimes won't recognize the address 4841 Hwy 71S - if you're having trouble finding us on the map, just type in Chicken Hill Lane Hatfield, AR

What we do...

True free range eggs

We have lots of chickens. Some live on a school bus! Heritage Breed Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, Black Australorps, Buff Orphingtons and super cool-looking Easter Eggers that lay the brilliantly colored blue & green eggs.

pastured meat birds

From two days old in the brooder till the time they are processed & packaged 6-8 weeks later, our Cornish-Cross meat birds have the absolute highest standard of living. Given that they might've ended up on a huge factory farm, with abhorrent living conditions, we prefer to treat our birds with respect & dignity - if you're gonna eat meat, would you rather the animal be treated like a commodity or like an actual living creature worthy of care? Is it fair to say that a happy, healthy animal will provide a higher quality nutrition than one raised in a crowded factory?

Grass-fed beef

Yeah, we have some cows. Just got the first two back from our USDA processing facility.....and it is goooooooood.

Chickens are meant to live in open space.

When you buy eggs at the local grocery store chain, you might see them advertised as "Free-Range", "Pastured", "Cage-Free", "All Natural" and "Farm Fresh".  But what a lot of people don't realize is those terms don't really mean what they imply.  For instance, if eggs are labelled as "Cage-Free" you might assume the chickens are completely unconfined, right?  Well, they're not. They are still crammed up in a dark, windowless building - they're just not kept in cages. There's not even a requirement that they have access to the outside.  When you see "Free-Range" you probably picture chickens roaming around in an open field, spread out and roaming freely - but sadly, you'd be mistaken.  Eggs can be touted as "Free Range" if they merely have access to the outdoors. There's no minimum requirement for the time and space each chicken should be guaranteed outside - it doesn't even matter if the area outside is completely concrete, no natural ground whatsoever, it still qualifies. In many cases, "access" doesn't even mean that they can, in fact, even get outside - if a door can theoretically be opened so the chickens can go outside, even if it never happens, they are considered "Free Range." How crazy is that?!
